Best Efforts Not Enough For the Nats<\/b><\/a> – The Post<\/i>
“This week’s ace” is what I called Billy Traber<\/span> last week. Yesterday, he gave up Atlanta eight runs in 2 2\/3. Final score 13-6<\/span>.<\/p>\n

On Saturday they played awful too — losing 10-1<\/span><\/a>. They did win on Friday<\/span><\/a>, 7-6, though. Isn’t that great?<\/p>\n

Whenever I hear that Nick Johnson<\/span> is hurt, I automatically think 15-day DL. He may have gotten a concussion from his collision with Jeff Francoeur<\/span>. His bonuses for plate apperanaces and games could be in jeopardy if he has to sit out for too long.<\/p>\n
Soriano speeds toward 40-40 club<\/b><\/a> – The Wash. Times<\/i>
With 41 taters and 34 stolen bases, look for LF Alfonso Soriano<\/span> to run wild and swing for the fences a lot over the next month or so. No one has ever had a 50-50 season (well, fifty HRs\/SB) and that would look pretty good heading into a contract negociations. The pursuit of that is one of the things that is worth watching<\/a> (The Wash. Times<\/span>) over the next month or so.<\/p>\n

For some reason, Dave Shenin<\/span> is saying that there are two impressive rookies in this market. Really, I can only think of one and that is Ryan Zimmerman<\/span>, though some guy named Nick Markakis<\/span> is mentioned. There is no Nick Markakis on Washington’s ball team.<\/p>\n
