On Saturday, before meeting up with my dad for some chili dogs at The Vienna Inn, we visited his new apartment in order to verify that he does in fact live here.<\/p>\n<p>While The Ombudsman&#8217;s apartment he shared with us a little bit of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kentuckybourbonwhiskey.com\/noah_mill.php\">Noah&#8217;s Mill bourbon<\/a> and I was very pleased by what he poured. Noah&#8217;s is an almost-syrupy bourbon with a sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, taste to it. It compares favorably with Old Rip Van Winkle 10 years old 90 proof, though it does not quite have the caramel flavor or intensity of Rip. That is not to say that Noah&#8217;s is at all lacking, it is really good and based on this one tasting, it might be the second most enjoyable bourbon I have tried. My wife, who will never be mistaken for a bourbon drinker, also enjoyed it. Our toddler enjoyed the cranberry-pomegranate juice (tart!) he was offered.<\/p>\n<p>Noah&#8217;s, distilled in Bardstown, Ky. by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, Ltd., is bottled at barrel proof, so it comes in at a robust 57.15% alc.\/vol. (114.3 proof). It is a small batch, made by hand. I am eager to add it to my collection.<\/p>\n<p>*This may be an exaggeration, the real reason is his quest to live in all the states that call themselves commonwealths. Kentucky &#8212; consider yourself on notice for the next time he moves.
