Dear Washington Capitals, if you start playing a full three periods, you may not have to play an extra one.<\/p>\n

Caps outshot in Pittsburgh 41-19, still win. They gave up a point they didn’t have to though.<\/p>\n

The Caps were lethargic in the first and third periods, they were lucky the Penguins didn’t put them away early.<\/p>\n

Tomas Vokoun<\/strong> played well, gave up a late power play goal off of a stupid Troy Brouwer penalty.<\/p>\n

Alex Ovechkin<\/strong> gets first goal of the season. It needed a review though, the goal official didn’t even light the lamp.

\nArron Asham<\/strong> dropped Jay Beagle<\/strong> with two nasty rights; Beagle should have known better.<\/p>\n

SHOCKING – No regulation power plays for the Caps.<\/p>\n

Dennis Wideman<\/strong> with the game-winner in overtime<\/p>\n

The Maryland Bureau Chief Emeritus was there and is presumably not too disappointed to earn a standings point with a backup goalie and other injuries<\/p>\n
