The second council vote is scheduled for today. What would Woody Hayes have said, &#8220;there are three things that can happen and two of them are bad.&#8221; We can have a postponement, a majority of nays, or a majority of yeas. The news today leaves room for optimism, if that&#8217;s your thing.<\/p>\n<hr width=\"150\" size=\"1\" align=\"center\" noshade><a class=\"smhead\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A61426-2004Dec13.html\"><b>Baseball Sweetens Benefits To City<\/b><\/a> &#8211; <i>The Post<\/i><br \/>\n<br \/><b>Cropp &#8216;Positive&#8217; Before Vote Today<\/b><br \/>\n<br \/>MLB has offered more community benefits and opened up a few things in the deal. <b>Linda Cropp<\/b> is leaning in the direction of yes.<\/p>\n<hr width=\"150\" size=\"1\" align=\"center\" noshade><a class=\"smhead\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washtimes.com\/sports\/20041214-121129-2822r.htm\"><b>Ballpark approval coming today<\/b><\/a> &#8211; <i>The Wash. Times<\/i><br \/>\n<br \/>Many more details about why Cropp will likely support the funding legislation today. Some of them are problematic, but hopefully, they will not be triggered. Read on and you will see what I mean. The one that gets me is the lower figure for moving the location of the ballpark. While it would cost more to build a park in SE than at RFK, the uspide is much higher, since developing the RFK area is a non-starter.
