The “last Expo” and D.C. hero in waiting, Brad Wilkerson<\/b> has signed a new 1-year deal that will keep him out of arbitration. Also, the team is finalizing a deal with Clear Channel for radio broadcasts and MLB is working on appeasing Peter Angelo$<\/b>. WTEM (not WJFK) is likely to handle the Nats broadcasts and who knows what will happen with Baltimore’s owner. Speaking of Angelo$, Tom Boswell<\/b> compares and contrasts him to George Steinbrenner<\/b> in a column<\/b><\/a> today.

HAPPY VALLEY ON ICE<\/h2>\n

You know that winter weather that has being missing us for some reason? Well, it hit the alma mater pretty hard yesterday. Penn State Live, which is put together by University Relations, has a photo gallery<\/b><\/a> up that includes the massive elm tree that came down in the middle of the intersection at College and Pugh. It took out some traffic lights, but fortunately no people or cars.

The carpool lanes on I-395 have some many hybrids that the benefits of these lanes has been lost. VDOT has an out though, this exemption ends in June 2006. There will be passion on both sides, but ultimately, I think the hyrbids get booted.<\/p>\n
