A business near the ballpark site is suing the District for blocking renovation permits since 2003. Expect to see more of these before it is all said and done (which will hopefully happen). This is just another reason why getting opening day there by 2008 is unlikely in my mind.<\/p>\n

…you killed my radio station. Actually, the WHFS that was beloved was already long gone before the format abruptly switched to Spanish at noon yesterday. The former alternative powerhouse had become “mallternative” by the late 90s and selling out to Infinity Broadcasting did not help matters. Also, I don’t mean to imply that HFS was my<\/i> radio station and that it was a vital part of my life, it just fits the joke. I listened to it and I even went to the ’96 HFStival (which until last month, was my last trip to RFK Stadium) and bought the YKB t-shirt (I think I still have it), but had pretty much ignored it since college, so this is not really a big loss. However, I still think that I will provide this tribute<\/b><\/a> to the HFS of yesteryear, but not yesterday.<\/p>\n

Come to think about it, one time in college (at Penn State Hazleton), it came in loud and clear, even though I was 200 miles away. That was pretty cool, now that I think about it, I recall it being a big deal at the time, so maybe HFS was a bigger deal than I remember.<\/p>\n
