OF Chris Snelling<\/span> has been traded<\/span><\/a> (The Post<\/span>) to Oakland<\/span><\/a> (The Wash. Times<\/span>) for OF Ryan Langerhans<\/span>. Snelling had been acquired from Seattle in the Jose Vidro<\/span> trade. Langerhans had been an A for less than a week, having been traded from Atlanta. GM Jim Bowden<\/span> wanted Langerhans for his defense.<\/p>\n

On the diamond, San Diego County native Matt Chico<\/span> was chased from the game<\/span><\/a> (The Wash. Times<\/span>) after just a 3 2\/3<\/span><\/a> (The Post<\/span>). His first three innings had been scoreless too. 1B Nick Johnson<\/span> began hitting off a tee<\/span><\/a> (The Post<\/span>) though, so his return and the inevitable injury watch may begin sooner than we expected.<\/p>\n

The Opening Day lineup<\/span><\/a> (The Post<\/span>), which lasted several innings, may appear again soon with CF Nook Logan<\/span> and SS Cristian Guzman<\/span> nearly back from injuries.<\/p>\n

The Nats still can’t hit<\/span><\/a> (The Wash. Times<\/span>).<\/p>\n

The other big news yesterday was the four part series by Fox Sports<\/span> columnist Ken Rosentha<\/span>l called National Crisis<\/span>. If Rosenthal is to believed some of our fears about the Nationals are true, such as:<\/p>\n

Ownership has a large learning curve
Ownership is cheap
Nobody knows why Jim Bowden has a job
Nobody knows what they are doing

    Let me also add that I am on board with MASN hiring MissChatter<\/span><\/a> as a dugout reporter. I’d even listen to their commercials again. I would totally hold over someone’s head<\/span><\/a> that I know a sideline reporter too.<\/p>\n
