Keeping up with the explosive growth of craft brewing in the greater Washington D.C. region is getting hard. Here is my attempt to summarize what’s going on:<\/p>\n

NOVA<\/strong>
\nThe Craft Beer Craze Continues: 8 Breweries Opening in NoVA within a Year<\/a> – Northern Virginia Magazine<\/em>
\nExplosion of beer breweries and brew pubs continues in Northern Virginia<\/a> – State of NOVA, The Post<\/em>
\nThat’s right, another EIGHT breweries are coming to greater Northern Virginia area. Most of them are in the outer suburbs.<\/p>\n

PORT CITY<\/strong>
\nMy hometown brewery has been added to the Virginia Beer Trail<\/a>. They are also “The Official Hometown Beer of the Potomac Nationals<\/a> (DC Sports Bog, The Post<\/em>” and are trying to get into Nationals Park. That’s good news, because the Nats are behind in embracing locally produced beer, like Port City and DC Brau.<\/p>\n

DC BRAU<\/strong>
\nSpeaking of DC BRAU, their DC United themed beer that I previously mentioned<\/a> will be The Tradition<\/a>, sorry Ball-Wonk, DC Brew-nited wasn’t picked.<\/p>\n

BLUEJACKET WILL OPEN…SOMEDAY<\/strong>
\nThe new Bluejacket Brewery near Nationals Park will open sometime this summer, later than expected though. Washingtonian had another story on them<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CRAFT BEER GUIDE<\/strong>
\nWashingtonian<\/em> Magazine published a Craft Beer Guide as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n

NATIONALS PARK BEER GUIDE<\/strong>
\nFor Nats fans, this beer guide by the Nationals Review<\/a> is an excellent guide to finding something other than macro beers. The Nats are behind on including local, inside the Beltway or from the District, beer.<\/p>\n

ARCHIVE<\/strong>
\nI’ve created a BeltwayLand Beer tag<\/a> so keeping track of the local suds might be a little easier.<\/p>\n

IS THIS PACE SUSTAINABLE?<\/strong>
