There are several Nittany Lions developments this week:<\/p>\n

The Office of Judicial Affairs<\/span> has kicked Anthony Scrirotto out for the summer semester<\/b><\/a> (CDT<\/i>). He still has several charges pending against him and may face more sanctions from the university if he is found guilty. What Joe Paterno<\/b> will do is also unknown, but it is reasonable to assume he’ll be missing some playing time.<\/p>\n

Lydell Sargeant<\/b>, cleared by the criminal justice system of any wrongdoing, is fighting his punishment from Judicial Affairs. This could backfire on him since it would require a formal hearing. That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but then again we are talking about Judicial Affairs.<\/p>\n

No word on whether Bernd Imle Jr.<\/span> or Thomas Skalamera<\/span> are facing any sanctions for their part in the incident.<\/p>\n

In happier news, we know now more about the schedule with the announcement that two of the first three games will be noon kickoffs on Big11Ten Network. Here is the up-to-date schedule:<\/p>\n

Sept. 1 vs. Florida International – 12 p.m. (Big11Ten Network)
Sept. 8 vs. Notre Dame – 6 p.m. (ESPN)
Sept. 15 vs. Buffalo – 12 p.m. (Big11Ten Network)
Oct. 13 vs. Wisconsin – 3:30 (ABC)
Oct. 27 vs. Ohio State – 8 p.m. (TBD)<\/p>\n

Joe Paterno was quite talkative<\/b><\/a> (Post-Gazette<\/i>) before a fundraiser in Pittsburgh the other day. <\/p>\n

  • He does not believe he’ll be able to run out of the tunnel on Sept. 1. He is going to try running a little when he is down the shore next week.\n
  • Since he was in Pittsburgh, the topic of playing Pitt came up and Paterno gave the stock answer. In short, if Penn State and Pitt are going to play each other again, the majority of games are going to have to be in Happy Valley. Paterno did not comment on Pitt’s new Panther logo that looks like a dog<\/b><\/a>.\n
  • On the topic of Scriotto et al, Paterno said that he was “very appreciative of the way the university has gone about it.”\n

    Lastly, Paul Posluszny<\/span> was named Penn State male athlete of the year<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n
