Miguel Cabrera<\/span> hit 2 solo homers yesterday and that was the differnce in the ball game. On the weekend, the Marlins outhomered the Nationals 9-0. Jason Simontacchi<\/span> took the loss. He also denied throwing at Mike Jacobs<\/span><\/a> (The Post<\/span>) following a Cabrera homer.<\/p>\n

Saturday’s game was more of the same for the Nats they gave up three homers and fell to Florida. Matt Chico<\/span> took the loss.<\/p>\n

Shawn Hill<\/span> threw off the mound yesterday<\/span><\/a> (The Post<\/span>) and reported himself to be pain free<\/span><\/a> (The Wash. Times<\/span>). We’ll see how he feels today.<\/p>\n

Thom Loverro<\/span> notes that the buzz for the Nats is gone amongst U.S. sportswriters<\/span><\/a> (The Wash. Times<\/span>). This will improve next year with the new ballpark, but with the playoffs and an All-Star Game several (if not ten) years away, D.C. baseball probably won’t get a national showcase for sometime.<\/p>\n
