Times<\/span>, respecitvely) yesterday, the Nats got back to business by defeating the Reds last night. <span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Matt Chico<\/span> got the win, despite faltering in the fifth inning and giving up two runs. 3B <span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Ryan Zimmerman<\/span> hit a three run double in the bottom of the inning to get Chico off the hook for a loss. Chico is now 5-6 on the season. Zimmerman&#8217;s batting average is up to .260. Times<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Tonight, <span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">John Lannan<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20070801\/SPORTS02\/108010080\/1005\/SPORTS\"><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">returns to the mound<\/span><\/a> for his first start since his memorable debut. He is trying to put what happened in Philly behind him and &#8220;looking forward to having people talk about something else like how well I did.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One hundred years ago today, <span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Walter Johnson<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2007\/07\/31\/AR2007073101779.html\"><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">made his debut<\/a><\/span> (<span style=\"font-style:italic;\">The Post<\/span>) for the Washington Senators. Only one other pitcher, <span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Cy Young<\/span>. The legacy of Johnson has been kept alive by his heirs, but next year there are plans for a statue of him, along with <span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Josh Gibson<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Frank Howard<\/span>, at the new ballpark.
