A narrow victory for the Dodgers<\/b><\/a> – The L.A. Times<\/i><\/p>\n

Barry Svrluga<\/span>‘s gamer suggested Wily Mo Pe\u00f1a<\/span> was Kirk Gibson-esque with his 2nd inning home run. Pe\u00f1a had fouled a pitch off his foot and limped around the bases. Oddly enough, L.A.’s paper of record made no mention of Gibson (though a Dodgers blog on latimes.com did<\/a>) and The Wash. Times<\/span> skipped a gamer altogether.<\/p>\n

Mike Bacsik<\/span> blew a 4-2 lead in the sixth by giving up three runs. At least Ryan Zimmerman<\/span> (22) and Dmitri Young<\/span> (13) homered. 2B Felipe Lopez<\/span> contributed to the loss when he had trouble fielding a Jeff Kent line drive in the pivotal inning.<\/p>\n

Jason Bergmann<\/span> is back<\/span><\/a> (The Post<\/span>) to try and reclaim his early season, pre-injuries form<\/span><\/a> (The Wash. Times<\/span>). He grew a rally beard too.<\/p>\n
