Penn State Nittany Lions 36 Indiana Hooisers 31<\/h2>\n
  • First off, did anyone hear why Indiana changed coaches? I am not sure I recall.\n
  • A good win for the Nittany Lions and as expected, not an easy one. I figured Penn State would have held Indiana to more field goal attempts.\n
  • The defense played terribly on the first drive. How hard is it to get ready for a noon start? Games have been starting at noon since the 1800s, but Penn State can’t seem to be ready until several minutes (quarters) have come\n
  • Despite the early interception, I think Anthony Morelli<\/span> had his finest half as a Penn State quarterback in the first half. He looks a lot more comfortable with himself of late. A couple of plays made me shake my head, but frankly I think they are the kind of errors that most quarterbacks make.\n
  • Penn State got lucky with the officiating a couple of times; no intentional grounding from Morelli late and a missed pass interference call on CB Justin King<\/span>.\n
  • Speaking of King, he did not have a good day against 6′ 7″ James Hardy, Indiana’s super receiver.\n
  • I though the play-calling in the second half was too conservative and a big part of the reason Penn State only got three field goals off of those first three turnovers. At least they got something as it was the difference in the game.\n
  • What a monster day for Maurice Evans<\/span> and a great performance for the defensive line. Evans could be Big11Ten defensive player of the week. I’m disappointed that Jared Odrick <\/span> got hurt though, he will be missed — probably for quite a while, it didn’t look good.\n
  • FB Matt Hahn<\/span> was having the game of his life before he injured his knee. From the angle I saw, I think something just popped without contact.\n
  • Hoosiers QB Kellen Lewis<\/span> is pretty scary and will only get better. Penn State can’t count on him fumbling three times next year.\n
  • Lewis was probably out of bounds at about the 1 on his last touchdown, but it wasn’t conclusive enough to overturn.\n
  • Wow, did Indiana make some terrible mental errors on punt returns and late game clock management.\n
  • I don’t recall one pass thrown in the direction of a tight end all day.\n
  • The new addition to Indiana’s Memorial Stadium looks fabulous, a real throwback to old school stadiums.\n
  • I was not enamored with the ESPN coverage; for a national telecast, I expected better. The main camera angle was too steep.\n
  • We celebrated with Jim Beam Black<\/span>, an eight year old variety. Wiley gave it to us as a housewarming gift this summer. Great nose, viscosity and smoothness. Nothing quite like victory bourbon, is there?\n
  • In the end, a good — not great win over a decent team on the road. Bring on the Buckeyes!
