Nats Add Second Scout Who Has Ties to Arizona<\/b><\/a> – The Post<\/i>
Ed Durkin, a scout with 22 years of experience, has been hired by the Nationals as the “national cross-checker.”<\/p>\n

Durkin and Rizzo worked closely with the Arizona Diamondbacks, where Durkin spent the previous 11 seasons. Rizzo called him the “heart and soul” of a Diamondbacks’ scouting operation that produced the vast majority of players who took Arizona to the National League West title as well as the National League Championship Series.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
