Here in the Seminary Valley, West End, the ground was white by 5 a.m. Snow continued intermittently throughout the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It snowed throughout the day, but what fell was seemingly compacted. No point in showing another photo. Sorry, Yard fan(s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great day in the backyard though, as a family we played hockey, soccer, badminton (because why not?) and had the firepit going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today’s storm ends a significant snow drought<\/strong><\/a> (The Post<\/em>) for Alexandria. National Airport reported \u00bd inch earlier in January, but this is the first storm of greater than one inch here since the February 20, 2019 storm<\/strong><\/a> dumped 4 inches. That was a snowy winter with over two feet of snow spread out over six storms, starting in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
