ALEXANDRIA, Va. \u2014<\/strong> A week of hype for high impact winter storms has been…underwhelming<\/em>. This morning though, snow and then sleet piled up enough to get “Yardy” out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 12:50 p.m., the precipitation was essentially over. I took my third blog-worthy measurement of the season — a whole 1 inch of snow covered in sleet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That brings us up to 5 total inches “officially “for 2021 so far. The 10 day forecast after February 18 doesn’t suggest more accumulation either. Still, it’s better than last year’s shutout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Had it happened a day earlier, we would have had another Pitchers & Catchers Day Storm<\/strong><\/a>, like in 2014. That was a good one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe if it refreezes overnight, I can get some broomball practice<\/strong><\/a> in Friday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
