The announcement came in resort&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massresort.com\/play\/snow-sports\/50th-celebration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary celebration<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2021- 2022 &#8211; new \u201cmost difficult\u201d terrain under the existing lift 5 lift line. They aren&#8217;t long, but every little bit helps.<\/li><li>2022 &#8211; a new long trail off of lift 6 and a connector trail between Paradice and Diamond Jim<\/li><li>2023 &#8211; new detachable quad lift 6<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think that&#8217;s December dates for the last two bullets. Let&#8217;s hope the schedule keeps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Good news for Mid-Atlantic skiing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Massa-nothin&#8221; is the knock against Massanutten ski area since time immemorial. It&#8217;s&#8230;not big. But <a href=\"https:\/\/jus.tia.mybluehost.me\/website_3c1e0e40\/2014\/02\/february-15-2014-skiing-massanutten.html\"><strong>as I learned in 2014, Massanutten has wonderful black diamond trails<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This expansion could be a game-changer for DC\/Virginia area skiers. Massanutten is about 2.5 hours from the Beltway near James Madison University. It&#8217;s vertical is nearly 1,110 feet and it&#8217;s one of the more scenic Mid-Atlantic mountains. These new expansions get it closer to the size of Whitetail with more vertical.
