Lannan shines for Nats<\/b><\/a> – AP\/Florida Today<\/i>
Even though John Lannan<\/span> struggled at times yetserday, he kept his spring scoreless streak going. He has not given a run yet, despite getting behind hitters yesterday.<\/p>\n

The Nats could conceivably have two lefties, Matt Chico<\/span> and Odalis Perez<\/span>, in the rotation when the club heads north. Contrast that with 2005 when the first start by a lefty (the immortal<\/span> Matt White<\/span>) didn’t come until August 27. Lannan and recently demoted Ross Detwiler<\/span> are two more lefties that should see some time in the big leagues in the future too. Randy St. Claire is a happy pitching coach. Jim Bowden<\/span> doesn’t care if the rotation is all lefties or all righties as long as it gets outs and gives the team a chance to win.<\/p>\n

Fanboy alert! Ian Desmond<\/span> has been brought up to major league camp after three seasons with A-Potomac. You may remember him from his epic 2005 spring training.<\/p>\n

Also, Detwiler was sent to minor league camp for more work. Mike Bacsik<\/span> was too, pleasing Chris Needham of Capital Punishment<\/a><\/span> to no end. Why you ask? It’s because Bacsik runs over Needham’s puppy every single day at 4:30 in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

NATIONALS NOTEBOOK – <\/span>Showing Restraint In Every Phase, Dukes Going Right<\/b><\/a> – The Post<\/i>
Somebody give Elijah Dukes<\/span> a cookie! He hasn’t been cited with any crimes or paternity suits yet! Clearly, this gamble has paid off.<\/p>\n

He is also hitting to the opposite field.<\/p>\n

LOOGY Ray King<\/span> says that Coke Zero and doing his own landscaping has helped him show up in camp svelte<\/span>. Not mentioned, fewer spring training excursions<\/span>.<\/p>\n
