{"id":30409,"date":"2022-11-30T07:05:56","date_gmt":"2022-11-30T12:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yurasko.net\/wfy\/?p=30409"},"modified":"2022-11-30T07:05:56","modified_gmt":"2022-11-30T12:05:56","slug":"1970-film-on-pennsylvanias-i-80-the-keystone-shortway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yurasko.net\/wfy\/2022\/11\/1970-film-on-pennsylvanias-i-80-the-keystone-shortway\/","title":{"rendered":"1970 film on Pennsylvania&#8217;s I-80: The Keystone Shortway"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s an old school video that has been with some overlapping interests of mine on the <em>highway enthusiasts<\/em> groups recently &#8211; <em>The Keystone Shortway<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Keystone Shortway, Interstate 80 in PA 1970\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Udq22pPDmB0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways, the predecessor of PennDOT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Keystone Shortway is better known as Interstate 80. A few KEYSTONE SHORTWAY banners were still around when I was at Penn State. I have heard a few people say the Shortway instead of I-80 as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The video includes several interests of mine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"\/website_3c1e0e40\/tag\/interstate-highway-system\"><strong>interstate highways<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>music used in NFL Films; in the case, from the De Wolfe library<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>skiing &#8211; Camelback Mountain, <a href=\"\/website_3c1e0e40\/tag\/camelback\"><strong>where I skied several times<\/strong><\/a>, is shown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>kayaking (though I&#8217;m the <a href=\"https:\/\/jus.tia.mybluehost.me\/website_3c1e0e40\/dc-area-kayak-rentals\"><strong>flatwater<\/strong><\/a> kind)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Penn State including Nittany Lions football<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s about 30 minutes long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bonus Video<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another video from proto-PennDOT &#8211; <em>&#8216;Round the State on Pennsylvania&#8217;s Interstates<\/em> from 1967.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Pennsylvania&#039;s Interstates 1967\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WkGolCK_uY0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s an old school video that has been with some overlapping interests of mine on the highway enthusiasts groups recently &#8211; The Keystone Shortway.
