Nats’ Redding Proceeds With Caution<\/b><\/a> – The Post<\/i>
Maybin comes through in Marlins’ win against Nationals<\/b><\/a> – Florida Today<\/i>
Last year, Tim Redding<\/span> had a dreadful spring, causing him to start the season at AAA Columbus. He didn’t fare much better there and his promotion to the majors was an illustration of just how bad things were for Washington. Then a funny thing happened — Redding became a dependable starter with an ERA under four over 15 starts.<\/p>\n

This spring, Redding is pitching better, just last night he gave up only one hit over five innings. I think it must be the peanut butter cookies and cream ice cream.<\/p>\n

Redding’s outing was for naught though, as Saul Rivera<\/span> blew the Nats 1-0 lead by giving up a 2-run homer to Florida’s Cameron Maybin<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Pe\u00f1a’s Status In Doubt After Muscle Strain<\/b><\/a> – The Post<\/i>
Wily Mo Pe\u00f1a<\/span> strained his left oblique muscle during BP yesterday. This will likely shut him down for a few weeks, giving Elijah Dukes<\/span> the opportunity to become the everyday leftfielder for a while.<\/p>\n

Speaking of strained obliques, Dmitri Young<\/span> made his 2008 Grapefruit League debut after dealing that injury and picked up two hits and a walk. Good to see his girth hasn’t hurt his swing.<\/p>\n

Guzman still may pay off<\/b><\/a> – The Wash. Times<\/i>
SS Cristian Guzman<\/span> picked up where he left off last year; playing out of his mind. He has 10 RBI and is batting .412 this spring. Is he really the same player that was so bad, Felipe Lopez<\/span> looked like an upgrade at short?<\/p>\n

Lo Duca may catch tomorrow<\/b><\/a> – <\/i>
C Paul Lo Duca<\/span> expects to make his spring debut tomorrow. <\/p>\n

Weaver apparently not coming to DC<\/b><\/a> – nationals.com<\/i>
Apparently, we don’t have to worry about Jeff Weaver<\/span> being signed by D.C.<\/p>\n

Nats Neighborhood Still Needs Work<\/b><\/a> – WTOP<\/i>
The ballpark will open a year before much of the new buildings in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n
