Registration closes Thursday, September 7 at noon. DC Bike Ride is a social ride on car-free streets, freeways and bridges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I signed up for <a href=\"https:\/\/jus.tia.mybluehost.me\/website_3c1e0e40\/2021\/10\/the-2021-dc-bike-ride-was-a-joyful-morning-of-bicycling.html\"><strong>the 2021 ride<\/strong><\/a> on a whim and really enjoyed myself. Now, I&#8217;m determined to see if I can improve upon my time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What I enjoyed about it last time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Closed course &#8211; it&#8217;s a rare occasion I can just ride my bike without worrying about cars, cross streets, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The novelty of riding on Interstates 66 and 395 along with the Whitehurst Freeway.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Views of the monuments and skyline from a different perspective<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being surrounded by happy people riding bikes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51520240323_dfd61b4418_b.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Register before 12 p.m. September 7<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to join, it&#8217;s about $81 total. The weather looks favorable &#8211; 75\u00b0 at the start with light southerly breezes. Registration includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Epic views, local music, and photo zones along the course <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DC Bike Ride 2023 Water Bottle&nbsp; Fully stocked rest stops with snacks, water, and fresh produce <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extensive mechanical support along the course <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to Finish Festival in front of the U.S. Capitol with music,&nbsp;food trucks, fun-filled activities, and giveaways from our partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/register.bikeridetickets.com\/affiliate\/dcwebhome\/event\/dcbr-23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Buy your 2023 DC Bike Ride ticket<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Next month &#8211; Philly Bike Ride<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On October 14, another Northeast Corridor city is doing the same. The <a href=\"https:\/\/phillybikeride.com\/\"><strong>2023 Philly Bike Ride<\/strong><\/a> is a 20 mile ride through Philadelphia.
