For the second consecutive summer, over five Sunday afternoons, The St. James in Springfield, Va. will host a half-ice broomball league<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

STJ Summer Broomball 4v4 League, organized by District Broomball, is a beginner-friendly short-ice program designed for approachability and fun. Short-ice broomball is less physically demanding and features fewer rules\u2014no offsides, no icing! The rink is divided into two sections, allowing two games to be played simultaneously.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The season starts July 12 and continues every Sunday at 2:40 p.m. until August 9<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half-ice is a good way to get introduced to broomball. District Broomball’s regular league play is a full, regulation-size hockey rink. Like league broomball, The St. James will be played on fresh, smooth ice in broomball shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ages: 16 – 99<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost is $75 plus transactions fees (under $3 for credit cards). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
