Once again, as Jay Hancock suggested, this is a &#8220;pernicious national trend: transforming public utilities into private monopolies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Adding onto the gas tax probably makes the most sense to cover funding shortfalls, but I doubt enough people have the political courage to make that decision.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/website_3c1e0e40\/graphics\/technorati.gif\" border=\"0\">  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/Interstate80\" rel=\"tag\">Interstate 80<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/i80\" rel=\"tag\">I-80<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/Pennsylvania\" rel=\"tag\">Pennsylvania<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/tolls\" rel=\"tag\">tolls<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\">&copy;MMX William F.
