{"id":361,"date":"2005-04-21T10:01:00","date_gmt":"2005-04-21T10:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yurasko.net\/wfy\/2005\/04\/361.html"},"modified":"2005-04-21T10:01:00","modified_gmt":"2005-04-21T10:01:00","slug":"361-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yurasko.net\/wfy\/2005\/04\/361-2\/","title":{"rendered":"NIGHT AND DAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/website_3c1e0e40\/graphics\/rfk420.jpg\" border=\"1\"><br \/>I made it up to RFK for my first official MLB game in D.C. last night, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A6107-2005Apr20.html\"><b>2 &#8211; 0 victory over Atlanta<\/b><\/a> (<i>The Post<\/i>). I was seated on the third base side in the 300 section, just close enough to the field to avoid major problems with second deck overhang.<\/p>\n<p>The game got off to a tough start with <b>Zach Day<\/b> pitching himself into trouble in the first. Thankfully, he was able to get out of the jam, which probably did a lot for his confidence, without any runs scoring. Six innings later, Day was pulled without giving up a run, and <b>Luis Ayala<\/b> and <b>Chad Cordero<\/b> did their part for the Nats first shutout ever. The Nats stranded a fair share of runners and only scored on <b>Jose Vidro&#8217;s<\/b> homer in the 3rd.<\/p>\n<li type=\"square\">Getting to and from the game was good, Metro behaved pretty well, though the spacing of trains on the Yellow\/Blue line left a little to be desired.\n<li type=\"square\">The concession stand near my section did not have any lines.\n<li type=\"square\">Screech looks kind of stupid, like a chicken even, but it is hard to deny his spirit. After seeing him, he is okay with me. He just needs to grow up from an eaglet to an eagle.\n<p>More from <i>The Wash.
