I made it up to RFK for my first official MLB game in D.C. last night, a 2 – 0 victory over Atlanta<\/b><\/a> (The Post<\/i>). I was seated on the third base side in the 300 section, just close enough to the field to avoid major problems with second deck overhang.<\/p>\n

The game got off to a tough start with Zach Day<\/b> pitching himself into trouble in the first. Thankfully, he was able to get out of the jam, which probably did a lot for his confidence, without any runs scoring. Six innings later, Day was pulled without giving up a run, and Luis Ayala<\/b> and Chad Cordero<\/b> did their part for the Nats first shutout ever. The Nats stranded a fair share of runners and only scored on Jose Vidro’s<\/b> homer in the 3rd.<\/p>\n

  • Getting to and from the game was good, Metro behaved pretty well, though the spacing of trains on the Yellow\/Blue line left a little to be desired.\n
  • The concession stand near my section did not have any lines.\n
  • Screech looks kind of stupid, like a chicken even, but it is hard to deny his spirit. After seeing him, he is okay with me. He just needs to grow up from an eaglet to an eagle.\n
