Remember when 3B Ryan Zimmerman<\/span> said he would not negotiate a contract during the season? Reports are that a 5 year, $45 million contract is close to being finalized. Zimmerman denies being involved at this point.<\/p>\n

SS Cristian Guzman<\/span> becomes the first National of 2009 to go from day-to-day to the 15 day DL. He strained his hamstring in the ninth inning of the home opener.<\/p>\n
