LSU to Play Penn St. in Capital One Bowl <\/b><\/a> &#8211; <i>LSUSports.net<\/i><br \/>We&#8217;re getting confirmation that Penn State will be playing LSU in the 2010 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capitalonebowl.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Capital One Bowl<\/span><\/a> in Orlando, Fla. on January 1, 2010 at noon on ABC. The Big Ten&#8217;s second bowl bid went to Iowa in the Orange Bowl, certainly a surprise based on past TV ratings and fan support that Penn State has provided. Given that the Fiesta Bowl went with TCU vs. Boise State, I have to wonder if the BCS decided to base matchups strictly on rankings rather than TV ratings, fan support. I don&#8217;t have a problem with that mind you, but I would not have been heartbroken to see the Nittany Lions in the Orange Bowl.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll have more to write about over the next several days. The two teams have met in January before and overall, I think it is a good matchup.<\/p>\n<p>Penn State is probably wearing blue (yay) for the game, since LSU favors wearing white almost all the time.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/website_3c1e0e40\/graphics\/technorati.gif\" border=\"0\">  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/PennState\" rel=\"tag\">Penn State<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/NittanyLions\" rel=\"tag\">Nittany Lions<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/collegefootball\" rel=\"tag\">college football<\/a>,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/LSU\" rel=\"tag\">LSU<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/CapitalOneBowl\" rel=\"tag\">Capital One Bowl<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\">&copy;MMX William F.
