No surgery needed on Posluszny’s knee<\/b><\/a> – Patriot-News<\/i>
The news is good for All-America linebacker Paul Posluszny. He has 6-8 weeks of recovery and rehabilitation ahead of him, but does not have to go under the knife. The next question is where he plans to play football next fall, Penn State or the NFL. I think he has played his last game as a Nittany Lion.<\/p>\n

Women’s group asks Paterno to resign<\/b><\/a> – CDT<\/i>
Recent comments by Joe Paterno<\/b> about an alleged sexual assault have come under fire from Joanne Tosti-Vasey<\/b>, president of the National Organization for Women in Pennsylvania. Paterno’s comments:<\/p>\n

There’s some tough — there’s so many people gravitating to these kids. He may not have even known what he was getting into, Nicholson. They knock on the door; somebody may knock on the door; a cute girl knocks on the door.<\/p>\n

What do you do? Geez. I hope — thank God they don’t knock on my door because I’d refer them to a couple of other rooms.<\/p>\n

But that’s too bad, you hate to see that. I really do. You like to see a kid end up his football career. He’s a heck of a football player, by the way; he’s a really good football player. And it’s just too bad.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A.J. Nicholson<\/b>, the FSU linebacker suspended for the Orange Bowl, is thought to be the subject of police inquiry. That charges had not been filed at the time of the question (or to date for that matter), clears Paterno in my mind. I have a hard time getting too worked up about what he said, though it may not have been the best way to handle the question. Methinks that PA NOW has bigger issues than this one.<\/p>\n
