\I have feeling that I will not be able to update the site during the weekend, but I have been proven wrong previously. So, I offer this Friday afternoon update.
TOMORROW’S GAME
Dave Jones expects a dogfight and so do I. The Beav is going to be pretty intense and I expect the team to be fired up. Hopefully, they can taste some early success so they do not have to dig themselves out of a hole. I see shades of the 2000 Purdue game; a down Penn State vs. Purdue and a Heisman candidate QB. Hopefully the results will be the same, but my head tells me that PSU falls short, 23 – 27. PROVE ME WRONG BOYS!
A D.C. BASEBALL FIX FOR THE WEEKEND

Marc Fisher’s weekly chat spends a lot of time talking about baseball in the District. Some key points that we need to get out there for everyone:
THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA SPENDS MORE PER PUPIL ON EDUCATION THAN ANY OF THE 50 STATES.*
So, please keep that in mind when someone argues there is not enough money for schools because of a ballpark. The problem with the schools is not money, period. The “think of the children” crowd would do a lot more good protesting the school board and making them accountable. Let’s not pass up a historic and unique opportunity because of a generation of mismanagement in the schools. Throwing support behind mayor-for-life, Marion Barryis only going to make matters worse (remember the control board?).
Sorry, sometimes I just have to let some steam out.
