A Short Night for Nats’ Day; Chavez, Hammonds Called Up – The Post
P Zach Day did not even finish four innings and baserunning blunders cost the Nats some valuable runs. Somehow, I want to link this directly to Endy Chavez and Jeffrey Hammonds being called up from New Orleans, but I do not think that I can. Let’s say their return was bad karma.

Sledge latest injury for Nats – The Wash. Times
“This is a serious injury,” general manager Jim Bowden said. “This is not a regular hamstring pull. I’ve been around the game a long time. This is the most serious hamstring I’ve seen since [Reds slugger Ken Griffey Jr.]. I’m praying it’s not pulled off the bone, but there are symptoms that it is.”
Hopefully, Bowden is exaggerating.
Wilkerson Fighting A Slump – The Post
Brad Wilkerson was 0 – 19 going into last night’s game, dropping his BA by .065. He got one hit last night, but three Ks in five at bats. Hitting coach Tom McCraw said “he isn’t waiting enough for the ball to come to the strike zone.”
Investing Firm Close to Deal on Renaming RFK – The Post
ProFunds Field at RFK. What is ProFunds you ask? It is a Bethasda-based firm that manages 49 mutual funds. I think I like calling it ProFunds Field at RFK better than the “Bobby.” Of course, I will just keep calling it RFK.
