Johnson’s Homer Keeps Nats in First – The Post
1B Nick Johnson continues to be on fire, going 2 for 3 with a two-run homer, a double and a walk. He also played well in the field.

For the first time in the history of the Expos/Nationals saga, it looks like MLB may be moving quickly on getting something done — the sale of the team. Opening bids are apparently around $380 million to $400 million. Also, there are expectations that the ballpark will not be open by April 2008, so at least folks are being realistic.
NOTEBOOK – Wilkerson May Have to Change Up – The Post
CF Brad Wilkerson is probably going to take less practice swings before games to help work around what has become a chronic nerve problem in his arm/hand. Also, both Esteban Loaiza and ¡LIVAN! got extra days off. Hopefully, they will respond well to the extra rest.
Reliever Eischen ready for rehab – The Wash. Times
It will be great to have Joey Eischen healthy again. He is needed on the mound and he is usually good for a quote. He will start in New Orleans and join the team (though not the active roster) on their next west coast swing.
Nats’ First Choice Is U-Va.’s Zimmerman – The Post
We knew he was the guy. The good news is that he is already signed and will be on his way to AA Harrisburg within two weeks. There is a press conference for him at RFK this afternoon.
