AT LEAST LOAIZA DIDN’T GET THE LOSS

Nats Take A Tumble In the 10thThe Post
Esteban Loazia pitched pretty well, getting 7 Ks in 7 innings. Naturally, the two runs he gave up were pretty much an insurmountable deficit for the Nats to overcome while he was still in the game.

The Nats did came back in the ninth though. 3B Dutch Zimmerman (3 for 4) got on with a single. Two batters later, PH Carlos Baerga hit one out to the tie the game.

Sadly, folk hero Rick Short is out for the year (nationals.com) with a partially dislocated shoulder. Hopefully, he can recover and be retained by the Nats next year. We could use that bat.
