A SENSE OF DOOM; MASN WANTS IN
HARRY JAFFE – Without a deal, Nats could run to a new home – The Wash. Examiner
Longtime D.C. journalist Jaffe is skeptical about the future of the Nationals due to the unsigned ballpark lease and the divide between the District and MLB.
MASN makes new plea to Comcast – The Wash. Times
MASN is trying to get on more cable systems. I would not expect any deals signed until late winter at the earliest since MASN has no programming. I would expect that the uncertainty of the Nats lease will also hold things up.
Nats’ president Tavares talks turkey – nationals.com
Nats president Tony Tavares gives a pretty candid interview to Bill Ladson. He endorses Jim Bowden but not Frank Robinson. He is also critical of the District over the lease and players complaints about the fences.
Buried in a roundup from the Rocky Mountain News is this nugget:
Washington Nationals general manager Jim Bowden has interviewed for the general manager’s job in Arizona.
Interesting.
Also, it looks like we can expect to see a column in The Post about sprucing up RFK a la Busch Stadium.
