Bidder Would Pay Overruns – The Post
Franklin L. Haney has gone on the record as saying he would pay for cost overruns for the ballpark, something that sounds great to the District, but must sound awful to MLB who believes in only 100% public financing. Haney was not named as one of the top three groups likely to be awarded the team and this probably seals his fate. He is willing to do this because he wants to be awarded development rights in the Ballpark District.
