Cropp: Financing agreement fixed – The Wash. Times
D.C. Council chairwoman Linda Cropp is indicating that everything is on course for having bonds sold for the ballpark by the December 31 deadline. Meanwhile, Vincent Orange (D-Ward 5) is not happy that his Government Operations Committee is getting shut out on “baseball issues” by Cropp and sued the chairwoman (The Post).
MLB seeking to merge bidders – The Wash. Times
It looks like Bud Selig wants to merge some of the bidders, like he did with the Red Sox sale a few years ago. In other words, he is going to put Stan Kasten into one of the other groups, likely, the one that wins.
Nationals’ Carrasco Files for Free Agency – The Post
P Hector Carrasco is the last National to file for free agency. The team also denied that it is trying to lure Bobby Valentine, who just won the Japan Series.
