Some in the D.C. government love the design, but Jack Williams (D-Ward 2) thinks it looks like an office building. Ouch. We of course cannot make up our own mind yet because the designs have not been unveiled publicly. You can bet that The Wash. Examiner will want to know how many bathrooms are in the design.
Lerners, Kasten Discuss Teaming Up on Nats Bid – The Post
As expected, Stan Kasten is in talks to join another group, the Lerner family, bidding on the Nationals. While this does not apparently does not “automatically make the Lerner group the front-runner” it certainly helps.
Deadlines to stand on Nats’ ballpark – The Wash. Times
MLB is holding firm, reminding the District the importance of deadlines or put more simply, “do as I say, not as I do.” It looks to be another tough December for Nats fans.
Nats meet with free-agent Burnett – The Wash. Times
RHP Josh A.J. Burnett is highly coveted, despite his 49-50 career record and getting kicked off the Marlins at the end of last season. GM Jim Bowden says his opinion of Burnett changed after meeting the pitcher recently. Who knows, if Randy St. Claire sticks around as pitching coach, he might be able to turn Burnett’s potential into greatness.
Also, Bowden apparently has another interview with Boston coming up.
