Between not having a day off (other than weekends) since Labor Day and the latest ballpark debacle, I need to get of here for a while. In my absence, young M.C., WWN Deputy Editor Fritz Hamme will be posting updates. Topics he is expected to include:

  • The death of the waterfront ballpark
  • Penn State’s Orange Bowl bid and matchup with Virginia Tech. It should get interesting in Northern Virginia.
  • Mike Robinson’s snub by the Heisman voters. Granted he has no chance of winning it, but a top five finish would have made sense.

    Here are some things I would have done if I was going to be around:

  • Post the WWN PENN STATE POST-GAME #11
  • See the Lady Lions take on George Mason next Tuesday. My love of Penn State overcomes my apathy for women’s basketball
  • Root for UCLA, Colorado, and even Georgia in their conference championship games. It does not matter though, USC, Texas, and LSU are LOCKS on Saturday, meaning Penn State will not get to play for the BCS championship.
  • Go ice skating.
  • Write brilliant posts for Metroblogging DC, such as noting that Dec. 7 is the 8th anniversary of the opening of MCI Center. Thanks, Abe!
  • I probably would not have posted to La Coupe Hauxer because there are no games between the Caps, Pens, Philly and Jersey.
