Tentative Deal Reached On Lease For Stadium – The Post
After hearing politics and worst-case scenarios and generally being whipsawwed into thinking we’d never actually have an Anacostia ballpark, it would appear that MLB and the DC Council reached a compromise on the Nationals’ new ballpark! I’m still kinda pinching myself to believe it. In essense (and without a lot of details disclosed), MLB agreed to the letter of credit and the $20 million, and the DC Council compromised on another issue. What that issue was, we don’t know, but with all the hardball played in recent days, I’m kind of eager to know what transpired and what the terms of the “compromise” are. Nevertheless, I’m allowing myself to feel cautiously optimistic.
