This week’s Loose Lips column in the CityPaper is devoted entirely to the ballpark. It takes a look at a number of players in the situation:
Joe Louis Ruffin Jr. a D.C. resident unhappy with the deal; sort of a lobbyist
Mayor Anthony Williams and Vincent Morris‘ efforts to sell the ballpark to the people
Robert Siegel, the owner of gay clubs and not a NPR host
Kathy Patterson, the would-be council chair who changed her mind to vote “yes”
and of course, Mayor Marion Barry, whose supporters think his tax problems are because he is anti-ballpark, not because he did not pay his taxes
It is an interesting read and would be even more so if I had nothing at stake in this matter.
