The Future Is Now for Zimmerman, Nats – The Post
Distinguished Senators likes the subtle shots at others in this article on ¡Dutch! so I am going to let Ryan say what needs to be said. I am instead going to focus on the headline. It is a somewhat odd choice becuase “The Future is Now” was George Allen’s explanation for trading away draft picks for what became the “Over the Hill Gang.” In the Nats case, they traded away someone (Vinny Castilla) who was perceived as over the hill in favor of a rookie. Perhaps the editor who made the headline was trying to be sort of ironic or was just unaware of what was said. I think it is the latter.
By the way, reports that Bowden has signed Billy Kilmer and Diron Talbert are thus far unsubstaniated.
