Hernandez Is Traded To ArizonaThe Post
The man who threw the first pitch in team history (file photo) has been traded. Livan Hernandez was shipped to Arizona for two AA prospects, RHP Garrett Mock and LHP Matt Chico. The former led the Diamondbacks system in strikeouts this season, while the latter was right behind him.

I am sad to see ¡LIVAN! go, but this is a lost season, so losing an extra five games he might have won is not too big a deal. Hopefully, one or both of these new guys will work out.

Reds Place Ex-National Majewski on Disabled ListThe Post
I don’t think much about Jim Bowden, but I am pretty convinced he is not the worst GM in the game; it appears that his Cincy replacement, Wayne Krinsky, holds that title. He apparently got very upset upon realizing the Gary Majewski is damaged goods, something everyone else on earth knew when the trade was made. Krinsky was looking into options for recourse, but an MRI on Majewski showed only fatigue and Krinsky backed off.

THOMAS BOSWELLIf You Build It, Don’t Build Next to ItThe Post
Bos is unhappy with Mayor Anthony Williams’ plans for condo/garage/retail towers beyond the outfield at the new ballpark. I cannot say that I blame him. This will get ugly.
