Minnesota-PSU officials discuss changing game date – Minneapolis Star Tribune/CDT
The Oct. 7 game between the Nittany Lions and the Golden Gophers may be moved due to a possible Twins appearance in the ALDS. This is an ongoing problem for Minnesota, but it will be remedied when they moved into a new outdoor stadium.
One possibility is to make it Thursday, Oct. 5, something Joe Paterno is very against. I am not crazy about it either, because it means staying up late on a work night, which can be a drag.
A more likely scenario would be to move it to Nov. 25, Thanksgiving Saturday. That would result in an open date for Penn State heading into the Michigan game, which means whining from Lloyd Carr. I think I am on board with that plan because in addition to making Carr cry, it would mean that I could go to the Capitals home opener.
By the way, La Coupe Hauxer-types, single-game Capitals tickets go on sale on Saturday. I’ll send an email out tonight.
