he Candidates Keep On Coming – The Post
The Nationals continue to interview people in search of the new manager. The earliest we can expect an announcement on a selection is Friday, assuming either Detroit or St. Louis wins the rest of the games in the World Series.
Negotiators Have Worked Out 5-Year Labor Dea – The Times
MLB and the union have reached an tenative agreement on the new labor deal. Of particular concern to the Nationals:
The new agreement will not have any major changes. Draft-choice compensation for lost free agents will be reduced, not eliminated. Teams losing the top tier of free agents will continue to receive compensation
I don’t have the time today to find the specifics, but this is good (not great) news for that Nats who will likely let Alfonso Soriano walk this offseason. There was concern free agent compensation would be removed completely.
