City to sell the Senators – Patriot-News
The city of Harrisburg is putting the Nationals AA farm team, the Senators, up for sale. The team has been owned by the city of Harrisburg for about ten years and though team turns a $250,000 profit for the city annually, Mayor Stephen R. Reed sees the sale as one way to address a budget crisis in Pennysylvania’s capital city. Reed says the intention is to sell the team to investors who will keep it in Harrisburg. This could get interesting.
Last summer I caught a Senators game with my father-in-law, Fritz and his dad, but I never had time to write up the experience. I’ll do that in the spring when the Eastern League season begins.
