Loverro looks at the D.C. sports scene, noting that Mike O’Connor must wish he weren’t from Ellicot City, Md. right about now and that “they might want to add racing vice presidents, secretaries of state and a few other cabinet members as well this year, anything to divert attention from the field.” Snarky, sure, but he’s got a point. He also laments that Alex Ovechkin is an afterthought in this town, but big enough in Canada that there are advertisements for an Ontario pizza chain on the dasher boards.
