I recently asked 12 new media professionals to answer an unscientific survey about the Cho Seung-Hui video that was sent to NBC News. I asked them if they would run the video and gave them a choice of three answers:
- Air the footage in its entirety
- Do not air any of the footage
- Air excerpts of the footage
Of the nine people who responded, one would have run all the footage, two would have run none of the footage and six would have run excerpts of the footage. What would have you have done?
