washingtonpost.com dropping initially dropped the ball on Virginia Tech shooting coverage

When I heard there was a shooting at Virginia Tech I went to washingtonpost.com to see what it had to say. After all, many Northern Virginians are once-present-and-future Hokies so the story hits close to home around here. However, washingtonpost.com has nothing more than a quick headline below the scroll. Meanwhile, the following media outlet Web sites have this news above the scroll — all D.C. TV stations, WTOP, The Wash. Times, USA Today, NY Post.

UPDATE: At 12:16 p.m. the story finally got placed above the scroll. It took over four hours for this to happen.

UPDATE II: Up to 20 killed, what a nightmare.
