On the Road, Nats Head the Wrong Way – The Post
Nationals’ losing streak goes to five – The Wash. Times
Is the ride of respectability over? It seems so with the Nats having lost 10 of 13 and playoff contenders on the schedule for the rest of the season. Or perhaps Gene Weingarten was precisely right when he predicted they would win 58 games this year in an exculsive WWN interview this winter. More likely is the old regression to the mean, a tired clubhouse and Felipe Lopez making errors all the time. At least FLop makes up for it at the plate. *crickets*
Last night FLop misplayed a ground ball in the seventh that loaded the bases and set up Andre Ethier for a RBI sacrifice that ultimately won the game. Has FLop turned into the 2005 Cristian Guzman?
Jason Bergmann returned from the DL and gave up three runs over six innings.
In happier news, Dmitri Young is a contender for the batting title (The Wash. Times).
Thomas Boswell is very concerned about the parking situation (The Post) at the new ballpark as it is key to the future both the Nats and the neighborhood. Next week, he will probably assure us it will all be okay and in fact wonderful.
Wily Mo Peña is adament about playing Friday (The Post) whether his bruised foot is feeling better or not.
NOTA BENE: Blue White Roundtable will be posted in the noon hour.
