Nats lose in marathon – The Wash. Times
Before about 400 people, the Nationals fell to the Marlins in 12 innings yesterday. The loss puts Florida only two back of Washington for fourth place. 41 different players were in the game before Todd Linden hit a dribbler between second and short. Saul Rivera took the loss.
Is it just me or does it seem like all the recent “getaway day games” have gone long?
Several players got the day off (The Wash. Times) yesterday.
There were so few fans in the crowd that one heckler was loud enough to get thrown out (The Post). Florida reporters counted 375 in attendance (The Wash. Times) early in the game. I doubt it ever get that bad in Montréal for the Expos. I say we move the Marlins there.
