Nats’ Attempt to Spoil Turns Sour – The Post
Plan goes awry for Nats in home loss to Phillies – The Wash. Times
After giving up two first inning runs, Jason Bergmann settled down and kept the Phillies off the board through the next five innings. The Nats pulled ahead 6-2 in the second inning and appeared well on their way to victory, but the bullpen faltered with Luis Ayala, Arnie Munoz and Jonathan Albaladejo giving up runs.
Shawn Hill is having surgery (The Post) on his non throwing shoulder the week after the season ends. He hurt it on the basepaths earlier this season. Hill thinks that injury made him alter his mechanics which hurt his pitching elbow.
SS Cristian Guzamn is taking batting practice (The Wash. Times), but a 2007 return is not determined.
Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins is really good and just may back up his “team to beat” claim (The Post).
