Marlins Knock Off Nationals in a SlugfestThe Post

For Nationals, a game worth forgettingThe Wash. Times

Last night, the Nats pitchers, starting with Mike Bacsik, couldn’t get anyone out. Only Wilson Abreau, who pitched 1/3 of an inning, didn’t give up a run; the other six pitchers did.

Despite all of this, Washington was leading as late as the 7th inning thanks to Montgomery County native Justin Maxwell’s first career hit — a grand slam.

LF Wily Mo Peña is playing better because he is playing more (The Wash. Times), according to Manny Acta.

Chad Cordero is aiming for 40 saves (The Post). He has 33 with 16 games left.

Don’t forget, today’s game is at 1:05 p.m. There are not high expectations for the turnout (Palm Beach Post) at Dolphin Stadium.
